WHO IS DR. MACINTYRE?
Dr. MacIntyre received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa. She later earned the designation, Doctor of Natural Medicine. She possesses a Master's Degree in Neuroscience from Carleton University where she graduated with honors. Dr. Tamara MacIntyre was a co-founder of The Prana Group in Ottawa, Ontario Canada and was in private practice for more than 13 years. She joined the Faculty of Life Chiropractic College West in the San Francisco bay area in 2014 and became licensed in California. She became the Chair of Clinical Education in the Life West Health Center in 2015 and is currently serving as Dean of Clinical Education of the Doctor of Chiropractic program in the Monte H. Greenawalt Health Center.
Dr. MacIntyre is a leader. While at Palmer College of Chiropractic, she was one of only ten students to receive a scholarship into the Vogt Leadership Society, one of the most prestigious leadership programs at Palmer College. Dr. Tamara received two of the highest awards a Palmer College graduate can obtain – The Most Outstanding Graduate and the Virgil V. Strang Award for her excellence in the philosophy of Chiropractic. She has aspired and maintained this level of excellence throughout her career.
Dr. MacIntyre views her role as a facilitator. While many professionals are concerned with changing the environment to suit a weakened body, she focuses on strengthening the body to suit the environment. She has worked with her patients to help them identify factors that are impacting their health expression and give tools with progressive action steps to reach their goals so that they may truly understand the control they have over how they feel on a daily basis. She empowers her students to step into this role.
Dr. MacIntyre's commitment to service and education has pervaded every facet of her career. She sees her patients as having unlimited potential and her role in their healing process is to tap into that potential, allowing them to express a greater, fuller life. Her mission has been to empower others with a greater understanding of health, the human body and its expression this includes the students she works with each day.
